Actress Lee Da-hae has moved to JS Pictures, according to multiple local reports Wednesday.

“We will act as Lee‘s trusted partner to support her activities in China,” JS Pictures said in a press release. “She will become the one and only actress at home and abroad with our financial support.”

JS Pictures’ response, however, came in an unusually confusing fashion. The agency denied the contract with the 31-year-old actress three hours prior to the official statement, in what turned out to be a case of miscommunication between staff at the agency.

The contract came as Lee failed to agree to terms with FNC Entertainment, home to the actress since January 2014. As an FNC entertainer, Lee played Ah Mo-ne, the heiress of a hotel owner, in MBC’s TV drama series “Hotel King,” which hit more than 200 million views via Chinese online streaming platform iQiYi. FNC Entertainment did not reveal plans for her future before the JS Pictures‘ announcement came to the fore.

Lee costars with Super Junior-M member Zhou Mi in Hunan TV‘s series “Couple of the Century.” She plays Choi Hwan-young, heiress of a fashion company.

A year after she won the 71st Miss Chunhyang Pageant in 2001, she made her debut on MBC TV series “Park Jong-cheol, A Fine Young Man.” She gained popularity in China after TV dramas featuring her, including “My Girl” (2005), “Hello! Miss” (2007) and “The Slave Hunters” (2010), and after she starred in Hunan TV‘s “Love Recipe” (2012). A Chinese speaker, Lee’s Weibo account has more than 6.7 million followers.
