D.O. of EXO and AOA‘s Seolhyun were chosen for the “Rising Star Award,” given by Maxmovie.

The award was created this year as part of the yearly awards ceremony. It is awarded to celebrities expected to hit big on the screen in 2016.

Winners for the “Rising Star Award” were selected through a vote from both the public and a team of columnists. Eleven actors, including D.O., Ryu Jun-yeol, Park Bo-gum, Park So-dam, Seolhyun and others were on the final list of candidates.

The 2016 Maxmovie Awards have garnered attention as some members of the audience will present the awards to the celebrities.

The award recipients will be present at the ceremony on Feb. 25, held at the Universal Arts Center in Seoul.
