Korean actor Lee Kwang-soo said his role as a mutant in the upcoming film “Collective Intention” was very challenging during a press preview held at CGV cinema in Seoul on Wednesday.

“I wanted to join the film more, since my face never shows up on the screen. I thought it would be a new challenge for me, regarding that possibilities will be low to perform that kind of role,” said Lee.

He added, “Since I could not show my facial expressions, I practiced to express my character’s emotions with my body, hands and the angle of my head. I wanted to convey the implicit meaning that Kwon Oh-kwang director intended to show.”

Lee, 31, had to put on special makeup for six hours to look as a half-fish mutant.

“Collective Invention” involves a mutated man who turns into a fish after going through an experiment. It has been invited to both the Toronto International Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival.
The film will premiere on Oct. 22.
