SHINee’s Minho talks about role, fellow cast members in new series ‘My First Time’

“I tried to act as naturally as possible,” said Minho at a press conference for the series on Monday. “I think a lot of my everyday habits will show through.”
He advised fans to look out for the handful of cameo appearances that will be made by his fellow SM Entertainment singers, including Yoona of Girls’ Generation, in the series.
“Yoona gave me a lot of advice,” he said.
“My First Time” tells the story of youthful romances that bud amongst six 20-year-olds. Minho will be acting alongside actress Park So-dam, a quickly rising talent in Korean cinema who recently made an appearance in the box-office hit “Veteran.” Park will be playing the cheerful and optimistic Han Song-yi, a character who works several part-time jobs to support herself and ends up living in a tent in Yoon’s garden.

Kim Min-jae will portray the serious Seo Ji-an, while Jung Yu-jin will play the beautiful “it girl” Ryu Se-hyun.

“We have Yi-kyung to thank for that,” said Minho of his fellow cast member, who is two years his senior. Minho is currently 23 years old. “(Yi-kyung) is the eldest, and if he hadn’t set the tone for such a comfortable and fun shooting atmosphere, it would’ve been hard.”
Yi, who debuted in 2011 and has played various supporting roles including in TV series “My Love from the Star,” is the son of LG Innotek president Lee Woong-beom.
“Of course, (Yi-kyung) has gone back on a few promises to buy me food,” Minho joked, to which Yi playfully replied: “SHINee makes more money, so I think you should be the one doing the buying. I have to pay rent.”
“My First Time” will air Wednesdays at 11 p.m. starting Oct. 7 on cable channel On Style.
