Actress Kim So-eun (MBC)

Photos from an upcoming TV drama “The Scholar Who Walks the Night” have been released, featuring actors Kim So-eun and Lee Soo-hyuk during shooting.

Actress Kim plays both maiden Choi Hye-ryeong and noblewoman Lee Myeong-hui -- the arranged fiancee of the main character -- in the period vampire series.

The main character is a vampire scholar, Kim Seong-yeol, played by Lee Joon-gi.

Photos released by broadcaster MBC on Friday show Kim dressed in character as Lee Myeong-hui.

Model-actor Lee Soo-hyuk (MBC)

Actor Lee Soo-hyuk plays an evil vampire named Gwi, who is the antagonist of the main vampire character.

Director Lee Sung-joon previously directed period TV dramas “Moon Embracing the Sun” (2012) and “Empress Ki” (2013).

Screenwriter Jang Hyun-joo’s earlier script was for the 2007 hit drama series “Coffee Prince.”

“The Scholar Who Walks the Night” is scheduled to premiere in July, after the current MBC drama series “Warm and Cozy.”
