BTS reigns atop Billboard Social 50 for record 17 months

K-pop boy band BTS has nabbed the top spot on Billboard’s Social 50 chart for a record 17 months straight, according to Billboard on Wednesday.

The seven-member act has held the No. 1 spot on the chart, which ranks the most popular and active artists on leading social networking sites, every week since its first entry on Oct. 29, 2016.

Also this week, BTS’ latest album “Love Yourself: Answer,” ranked No. 77 on the Billboard 200, maintaining its spot for the 18th week since September, the longest record for a K-pop album.

Kicking off the year, BTS will resume its world tour with concerts in Nagoya, Japan, on Jan. 12-13. It is set to perform in Singapore on Jan. 19, Fukuoka, Japan, on Feb. 16-17, Hong Kong on March 20-21 and 23-24 and Bangkok on April 6-7.
