“I am fully aware that I don’t have a ‘pretty boy’ face like other popular male actors. But I have thought that I should pursue my acting career differently. I became an actor because I enjoy ‘acting’ itself and I’m planning to continue with what I have,” the actor was quoted as saying.
Kim also shared his hopes for playing the lead role in melodramas. So far, the actor’s past major works including the KBS2 drama “Friends 2013” and the film “Friend-The Great Legacy” involved “bromance” -- friendship between two male leads -- rather than romance.

The 25-year-old also revealed that actor Cha Seung-won is his role model.
“I first met Cha three years ago at fashion week. At that time, I was only a rookie actor, so it wasn’t easy for me to approach him. But, at one point, he recognized me when I said hello. Since then, we have become closer. I sometimes share my concerns or problems with him,” he said.
