Kim Soo-hyun, Lee Min-ho, Jo In-sung to compete in drama awards

Popular actors Kim Soo-hyun, Lee Min-ho, and Jo In-sung are to compete for the grand prize in the 2014 APAN Star Awards.

A panel of nine judges, comprising drama producers, writers, reporters and critics, will choose the winners from those who helped make the 87 Korean dramas aired on Korean television from October last year to September this year.

Among the prize sections, best male actor in the short-length feature drama has gained attention as popular actors Kim Soo Hyun, Lee Min-ho, Yoo Ah-in, Jo In-sung, and Jang Hyuk are favorites for the prize.

Kim Soo-hyun has been nominated for his role in SBS’s drama “My Love from the Star.” Kim played Do Min-jun, an alien who comes to Earth and falls in love with popular actress Cheon Song-yi, played by Jun Ji-hyun.

Lee Min-ho is also a candidate for his acting in SBS’ “The Heirs.” Lee played the role of Kim Tan who showed passionate love for Cha Eun-sang, played by Park Shin-hye.

Jo In-sung has been nominated for his performance as Jang Jae-yeol in “It’s OK, That’s Love.” Jo was widely praised for his portrayal
of the complicated emotions of his character, who suffers from mental illness.

Actor Yoo Ah-in and and Jang Hyuk were also chosen for their leading roles in drama “Secret Love Affair” and “Fated to Love You.”

The winner will be unveiled on Nov. 15.
