Shindong, a member of the K-pop idol group Super Junior, will enlist in the Army on Nov. 25, his label SM Entertainment confirmed Wednesday.

The 29-year-old idol will fulfill his mandatory military service for 21 months after undergoing five weeks of basic training in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province.

Shindong will no longer participate in the group’s “Super Show 6” world tour as he needs to focus on personal matters. He excused himself from the latest concerts held in Tokyo on Oct. 29 and 30 due to health problems.

Super Junior, which kicked off the world tour in Seoul in September, plans to continue touring Asian cities for “Super Show 6” despite Shindong’s absence. The group will hold the next concert at EXPO Arena in Hong Kong on Saturday.

Super Junior member Yesung is also serving in the military and is expected to be discharged in May 2015.
