Hallyu star Lee Min-ho donated $50,000 on Monday to build a well in Africa, the agency said.

The donation was made by Lee’s new foundation Promiz, which he co-launched with his fans. Started in June, Promiz collects donations under a different theme every year. This year’s theme is “water.”
Promiz is a compound word combining “promise,” “Lee Min-ho,” and the fan club’s name “Minoz.”

The donation will be given to non-profit organization Charity Water, which works to provide clean water to African communities by building wells.

“All of the fund will be sent to Malawi,” a Promiz official said.
