Chanyeol of EXO has landed a key role in the new TV series “Memories of the Alhambra,” which aired its first episode on cable network tvN on Saturday.

“Hi all, this is Chanyeol of EXO. I’m starring as Jung Se-ju in the TV series ‘Memories of the Alhambra’ premiering tonight at 9. I’m feeling quite nervous ahead of the pilot episode. Se-ju and Chanyeol need your support,” Chanyeol wrote on the group’s official Instagram account Saturday.

The nighttime weekend series of the suspense-romance genre revolves around the CEO of an investment company, Yoo Jin-Woo, who meets the owner of a hostel, Jung Hee-joo, in Granada, Spain.

The two lead roles are played by “The Secret Garden” star Hyun Bin and “The Heirs” heroine Park Shin-hye.

Chanyeol plays the little brother of Hee-joo and a reclusive programmer who develops an intricate augmented reality game.

The series’ director Ahn Gil-ho described the EXO star’s role as “a crucial intermediary character that wields influence over the plot and other characters.”
