Hwang Chi-yeul communicated with his fans in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Tuesday.

In the broadcast, a fan asked whether he had improved his cooking skills after appearing in SBS’ “Baek Jong-won’s Alley Restaurant.”

The singer was shown as a clumsy cook. In one live show held on the V app, he could not even name the mushroom he was going to use.

“I don’t think my cooking skills are improving that fast. Yet, I became unafraid to use a knife at least,” he said. “(As) I watch others cook next to me and I cook too, I think I’ve come to know the charm of cooking.”

The SBS show features Baek Jong-won, one of the most successful food franchise businessman in Korea. Baek consults with small restaurants to revive local alley businesses. Each season follows two celebrities as they run a project restaurant to draw people to the alley. This season will see Hwang pair up with actress Nam Bo-ra.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
