Soyou, formerly of now disbanded Sistar, revealed the hard work behind her solo debut in a V broadcast Tuesday.
The K-pop singer made a guest appearance on Arirang TV’s “After School Club.”

She sat down for an interview after performing her new song. When asked about being onstage alone without Sistar bandmates, Soyou said that it is a nerve-wracking, yet rewarding experience.

She said she felt a lot of pressure over her new album, “Past collaborative singles to which I contributed as a featured singer saw some success, and I was overwhelmed about the prospect of this solo album,” she said.

The pop star also shared about the effort that went into a music video shoot. “There was a scene where I had to brush my teeth, and I repeated the action so many times that my mouth hurt after the shoot,” she said.

Her first solo album, “RE:BORN” was released on Dec. 13.
