A clip of GFriend attempting a Slovenian dance aired via Naver’s V app Wednesday.

The band was traveling in the central European country to shoot “The Friends” for K-Star. As a part of the trip, the group decided to learn the traditional dance of Slovenia.

Two instructors in Slovenian traditional costume greeted the K-pop act along with an accordion player at a local restaurant.

The girl group was eager to dig into the dance, with the bandmates eagerly taking their coats off. The group famous for its spectacular dancing skills quickly learned the basic steps.

Umji also showed off her English skills, translating the instructor’s explanation for her bandmates, “You have to clench your fists, like the peasants of Slovenia in the past. They had to do so to hide their rough nails and hands from farming and working.”

After listening, Eunha joked that they shouldn’t clench their fists, but rather stretch their palms proudly to show off their nail art and “adapt to the modern era.”

Kriesha Chu had a surprise birthday party via Naver’s V app Wednesday.

The Filipina-American singer’s younger sister and brother were waiting at the management agency to welcome their big sister for her 20th birthday. The younger boy especially had a hard time keeping quiet.

The K-pop star began crying from the moment she entered and saw her siblings. She hugged them straight away.

“I thought that there would not be anyone here. I had a rough day, a busy one,” she said. “I wanted to celebrate my birthday, but I didn’t know how.”

In the corner a stack of presents was piled up with a birthday cake in the middle. Kriesha blew out the two candles and made a secret wish before opening the presents from her family and fans -- including a bag, shoes, clothes, dolls and candy. She made sure to read all the birthday cards from fans.

Kriesha ended the broadcast, saying, “Thank you for preparing a surprise birthday party. I will enjoy all of these presents. Happy Dec. 20!”

The audition star will release the new EP “Dream of Paradise” next on Jan. 3.

Sookyung of Favorite

Sookyung greeted fans from Jeju Island through Naver’s V app Wednesday.

Favorite’s Sookyung was on Jeju Island, Korea’s favorite domestic holiday destination, to shoot a music video for the band’s new track.
“This is my second time here. I have never visited the island for vacation, it’s always work,” Sookyung, in a school uniform, said.

She wanted to show fans the beautiful scenery of the island, turning the camera to the beach.

“You might go blind, the sunshine reflected on the water is so bright,” she said, playfully adding, “I am going to go in the water, because it’s my home.”
