On New Year’s Day, boy band BTOB greeted viewers and wished them a Happy New Year via Naver’s live V app broadcast.
Minhyuk and Eunkwang first popped up, creating a hyper atmosphere.
“We are in the waiting room of (MBC’s) Korea Music Festival,” Minhyuk said.
Holding a portable electric fan, Eunkwang kept it close to his face in an attempt to cool off.
The two bandmates said they had become a year older, but that they were “28 months old,” not 28 years old.
“When did we get so old?” Minhyuk asked Eunkwang, whose face turned sullen. “We were in our early 20s when we were preparing to debut. But we are still young and we are energetic,” he added.
Sungjae came to sit next to the two, wearing a purple velvet suit.
“Hello, I’m Ryu Deok-hwa,” he said, referring to the role he plays on tvN’s “Guardian.”
The rest of the band explained how Sungjae has to go to shoot the TV drama right after the music festival and that he’s been really busy recently.
Minhyuk hinted at the not yet revealed role of Sungjae on the program.
“Sungjae’s role is important in several crucial moments in the show,” he said.
After passing the camera to the rest of the band to give their greetings, the seven-member group ended the show, promising fans they will work harder in the new year.

K-pop boy band Seventeen wished fans a Happy New Year on Sunday via a V app live broadcast.
The 13 members of the band all shouted out “Happy New Year” at the start of the show, then revealed that they have released a new music video for “Highlight.”
The song is featured in their recent album, “Going Seventeen,” which was released early last month.
“We put a lot of effort in shooting the music video. We stayed up all night for it,” the group’s leader, S. coups, said.
The boy band congratulated and complimented each other for their year 2016 and for working very hard. They also showed appreciation to their fan group, dubbed “Carat.”
“You guys, Carats have done so much for us,” Dogyeom shouted. “Thank you for all your love and attention toward us.”
The group pledged to work harder in the 2017 for the fans.
With the turn of the year, one of member officially became an adult. The boy group congratulated Vernon, who turned 20 in Korean age.
“I just realized, I’m turning 20 in the year 2017. Our group name is Seventeen,” Vernon, who holds American citizenship, told viewers.
The youngest member, Dino, is to turn 20 next year.
“Last year we worked endlessly. Good job to us. I wish for the best in the new year as well,” Dino added.
The 13-member group sang a Korean children’s song, “Magpie, Magpie Seollal,” changing the song’s ending tune to the style of electronic dance music.
Rounding off the show, the boy band waved to viewers and repeated in unison, “Happy New Year!”
