In a surprise Naver V app show Monday Hwang Chi-yeol said that he was “honored” to emcee the KBS 2TV‘s music show “Immortal Songs.”

“This is such a meaningful day,” said the 34-year-old pop star.

This marks his return to the show since November 2015. He joined the program in April 2015 as a competitor for seven months.

“The return after about a year makes me nervous,” he said.

He will co-host the show with musicians Jung Jae-hyung and Moon Hee-jun in the competitors’ waiting room.

The Saturday prime-time program is designed to shed light on veteran singers’ legacy. Competitors share updates in the waiting room, but on stage, they perform a guest veteran singer’s hit songs in their own interpretation. The audience at the venue votes for the best competitor.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
