[V Report Plus] Actor Joo Won to pick female lead for drama featuring himself

Actor Joo Won returned to the Naver V App after a three-month hiatus here on Sunday, announcing that the audition process for a female lead role in an upcoming drama featuring himself would kick off.

“Today we are having an audition,” Joo said. “I’m looking for someone whom I would feel comfortable working with.”

Joo added he is involved in picking the female lead who will star against him in the upcoming drama “My Sassy Girl.”

Joo explained that the audition is to give an anonymous yet talented actress an opportunity to be brought under spotlight.

“I know what it is like to act with a named actresses, as it would create synergy,” Joo said. “But this time we want to bring an anonymous yet talented actresses into the spotlight. There have been very few attempts to do so. All of us are very seriously committed to finding the best actress.”

The production team of “My Sassy Girl” is looking for a woman between 20 and 30, regardless of acting experiences. Applications were accepted until May 20.

The audition on Sunday will shortlist the final 10 candidates who will vie to become the female lead in the series. Fans will vote for the winner in a survival show featuring the candidates.
