Solo artist Eric Nam popped up live on Naver’s V app Monday while chilling in his car.
Before appearing at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul at 7:30 p.m., he arrived early near the university in Hyehwa.
“I’m in my car, chilling, drinking coffee and having a kimbab.”
The star spoke in both Korean and English for fans in and out of Korea.
“How have you been? The weather’s nice in Korea. What else is new? I have new music coming out. I’ll tell you very soon.”
He added he could not tell the exact date.
He read replies from Iran and Turkey, and started calling out the countries the comments came from.
“All over the place, Philippines, London, Indonesia. ... Yes. (The new songs will be) new music, very different music,” he said.
When a fan asked whether he would appear at the KCON New York music festival hosted by CJ E&M, he responded positively.
“Yes, KCON New York. I will be on stage on June 25. If you are in New York, come drop by and say what’s up.”
He will also perform at Seoul Jazz Festival, which takes place May 28-29 at Olympic Stadium in Seoul.

Dae-hyun of boy group B.A.P appeared on the V app live early Monday as he was in Dusseldorf, Germany after a showcase.
In a calm, somewhat tired voice, he greeted fans and was surprised to know it was time for viewers in Korea to go to school.
“The time difference. I’m a little tired, but the hotel’s Wi-Fi is very smooth.” He said, adding that it was not yet 1 a.m. in Germany.
He also shared his day saying, “So many people came today. I did not know.”
“Even after visiting (to perform in) different countries around the world, there are still so many more left for me to go,” the 23-year-old said.
“I realized that each country has different colors, the atmosphere. I’m sorry you guys are at school,” he added.
One of the comments read, “My friend is your fan,” and he answered, laughing, “I heard that so many times, but those who tell me that are not my fan.”
The six-member group debuted in 2012, releasing their EP “Warrior.”
And more
Male solo artist Park Si Hwan showed off a music video clip of “My Bucket List” on the V app Monday, a day before the official release of the original sound track album of the musical “My Bucket List.”
The musical runs from April 23 to July 3.
