K-pop boy band Big Bang amassed 2 million followers on the V app Thursday, becoming the fastest act to reach the milestone on the real-time broadcasting app launched in August.

The five members of the band released a short clip on the app to thank fans for their feat.

“Big Bang passed 2 million followers,” said Taeyang.

“We heard we are the first among Korean artists. We are deeply moved,” added G-Dragon. “We will keep up the hard work to gain even more followers in 2016.”

“We are planning to showcase various aspects (of our lives), so follow us and please give your love to Big Bang and the V app,” said Taeyang.

As of Friday, SMTown -- the mega showbiz agency that includes Girls’ Generation, SHINee and Super Junior -- ranked second with 1.775 million fans on the app, followed by BTS, with 1.75 million, and EXO, 1.424 million.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit www.vlive.tv.
