Lee Seung-gi sings ‘I’m Leaving to the Army’
Lee Seung-gi (Hook Entertainment) |
Singer Lee Seung-gi is joining the Army on Feb. 1 to begin his two-year mandatory military service, according his agency, Hook Entertainment.
Lee will also drop a digital single titled ”I’m Leaving to the Army“ at noon, as a good-bye present to his fans, Hook officials said in a press release Thursday.
”I’m releasing this song as a thank you to people whom I was not able to visit individually before leaving,“ Lee was quoted as saying in the release.
”While this song is about me, I hope people who are going to the Army and their families can also share the emotion (of going to the Army). I truly appreciate receiving so much love from people. I will come back as a real man,” he added.
The upcoming single is produced by Kim Do-hoon, who had worked with the artist on past hits “Will You Marry Me” and “Unfinished Story.”
Lee rose to stardom immediately after releasing his debut song “Because You‘re My Girl” in 2004. He has also found major success as an actor and host appearing in TV dramas ”The Infamous Chil Sisters“ and ”Brilliant Legacy“ as well as variety shows ”Strong Hearts“ and ”2 Days & 1 Night.“
