[V Report] BTS celebrates visit to Vietnam

Korean septet boy band BTS visited Vietnam to perform live at 2016 Gala Vietnam Top Hits on Tuesday.

The headliner of the show greeted fans before they entered the stage with cheerful mood. BTS members celebrated their visit by wearing Vietnam’s traditional Non, conical hat made of straw or matting. They called the outfit “got,” referring to Korean traditional hat.

BTS members also shared their thoughts on Vietnamese dishes. Their topic centered on Pho, a Vietnamese rice noodle with warm broth, also well-known among Koreans. All BTS members agreed they “really liked the noodle.”

BTS also asked Korean fans to stay warm, after they were surprised by the news that temperature in Korea dropped significantly. On Tuesday, the temperature fell below minus 14 degrees Celsius at night.

All members maintained a cheerful atmosphere during their performance accompanied by the ukulele.

BTS was not the only band which was invited to Gala Vietnam Top Hits. After the live performance, Korean girl quartet Mamamoo shared their feelings.

“We were totally exhausted,” members agreed. “We did our utmost on stage.”

They also regretted not having a chance to enjoy local rice noodle soup in Vietnam. “After the concert, all shops selling noodle soup were closed. We felt very sad,” said the 20-year-old member Wheein.

Korean female rapper Kisum celebrated her birthday Wednesday, when she turned 21.

The budding rapper greeted fans in her room. “I’m very happy to spend my birthday with fans,” she said. “I will be proactively arranging schedules (to get closer to fans)”

At midnight, she held a birthday cake, and lit candles. She sang a birthday song for herself.

When asked if she feels lonely, she said she does not, since she currently lives with her family.

Sojin from Korean girl band Girl’s Day started her live broadcast after she came back from MBC special “Idol Star Athletics Championships.” She confessed that she finished last in athletics.

“I tried my best not to finish last, but I couldn’t help it,” the 29-year-old Sojin said. “But I’m fine. I’m glad I was not hurt.”

Sojin, in the second episode of her broadcast “Soji and Daisy” asked fans to find her unique individual talent, mostly imitating voices of TV animation characters.

Shin Hye-sung broadcast live on his way back home. The ballad singer-member of veteran boy band Shinhwa asked fans online asked fans for tips on how to dress when he appears on TV music shows with his newly released album.

The 36-year-old singer was asked to dye his hair pink color and wear a pink suit on television, which made the performer feel reluctant. He had to make a compromise with his fans and later decided to wear a pink jacket and pants in his solo concert.
