Six-member boy group VIXX went live on the V app at 9 p.m., ahead of releasing their new full-length album “Chained up” at midnight.

“The album’s concept is enslaved by love,” said Ravi. “We tried to tie together the theme of slavery and love together in the album.”

Ravi also explained the album describes six men’s destiny. “These men are very strong and cool, but when it comes to love, they are restricted by and dependent on women, kind of like slaves,” he said.

The four members went ahead and showed the details of the album to the viewers, which has two different version, “Freedom” version and the “Control” version, depending on different photos contained inside the album.

The members also showed off their chain bracelets. All VIXX members and other staff members have it on their wrists, symbolizing the lead track “Chained Up” of the new album.

Before releasing the album, the members sang some verses from the album and showed the dance moves to the songs, drawing the curiosity of viewers.

“I am very nervous and excited,” said Ken. “I hope you all love the new song ‘Chained Up’ and we will prepare a good stage for the fans who have waited for a long time.”

“As we were preparing for this album, I worried and prepared a lot for the song, the performance and to achieve completeness (of the album),” said Leo. “We would appreciate your love and interest.”

Veteran singer Shin Seung-hun also appeared for the first time on the app with a special live concert for the fans who have waited him for over nine years to release a new album.

During the concert, he sang songs from his new album, including “Mayo” for the first time, “Sun, Moon, Stars and Us,” and “Would You Marry Me.”

He explained why he selected hip-hop genre song “Mayo” as the lead track of the second part of the album. “On the second part of the album, I put songs I wanted to try. People around me tried to stop me from doing new things, but I am still hungry and want to continue to challenge myself.”

He said popular hip-hop artist Beenzio featured in “Mayo,” but he could not come today. “I jokingly told others that I will rap instead and everyone stopped me.

Shin also performed past hit songs, including “Butterfly Effect,” adding that the song talks about first love. He also received song requests from fans and performed “Vincent,” “Now and Forever,” “Your Smile in My Memory” and “I Believe.”

Before wrapping up his memorable live show, Shin -- who is in his 25th year of singing career -- admitted that he was worried when he first decided to go on the app. “I wondered if I could do it like other K-pop idols,” he said. “But I was told I can just go on with my style. So I rented a live bar in Hongdae and performed with a band. The broadcast was more exciting than I expected.”
