Actor Lee Jong-suk started his brand new channel on Naver’s V app on Tuesday. Broadcasting from his home, Lee sported a loose, striped tee-shirt and casual, wavy hair.

“The home tour will come later,” said Lee, responding to fans’ requests for a peek into his house.

Since his last drama series “Pinocchio” got wrapped up, Lee had considered “starring in a reality show with fellow actor Yoon Kyun-sang,” who also appeared on the drama series, said Lee. “But (Yoon) is so popular these days, he doesn’t have time for me,” he added jokingly.

On his current activities, Lee said most of his time was being taken up with preparations for his upcoming fan meeting. “I’ve been helping make souvenirs for the fans,” he said.

The actor went on to reveal some of his preferences candidly to his fans. “I like Spiderman,” he said, gesturing at the display of superhero figurines in his home. His favorite actress is Kim Yoon-hye and his favorite actor, Cho Jin-woong, Lee revealed. He is also a big fan of actor Kim Woo-bin, he added.

Youthful Red Velvet releases new song

Red Velvet released their new single “Dumb Dumb” on Naver’s V app on Tuesday. The title track to the sprightly girl group’s new album “The Red,” “Dumb Dumb” is an upbeat song with an “addictive hook,” according to the group’s member Joy, that speaks of the shyness of a young girl in love.

SHINee’s Key made a surprise appearance on Red Velvet’s channel, saying that he had dropped by to show support for the girl group’s new album release.

Red Velvet romped around in colorful costumes while sporting red bangs and red ribbons in their hair, joking amongst themselves and answering fan questions uploaded on V app. One fan asked, “I am training to become a singer myself. Do you have any advice?” to which Joy replied, “You should sing with your heart.” Member Wendy added that trainees “should remain confident and never give up until the end.”

Red Velvet also introduced the different tracks on their new album, explaining how each member had tried to convey the emotions in each song in their own distinct styles. The five members -- Joy, Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Yeri -- were excited for their new release and fans’ responses. Jumping up and down to their own songs, Red Velvet’s Tuesday broadcast was full of fun and giddiness, befitting the girls’ image as “the youngest sister group” of their label, SM Entertainment.

CNBLUE’s Jonghyun, explained the theme behind each song in CNBLUE’s second album, “2gether,” which is to be released on Sept. 14.
“I hope this album will be a gift to our fans, especially with the Chuseok holidays coming up,” he said.

The title track “Cinderella” is a particularly rhythmical song, he said. “I could listen to it all day long.” Other tracks on the album include “Rollercoaster,” “Domino” and “Catch Me,” among others.

Four teasers for CNBLUE’s new album will be released until Sept. 10, each centering on the theme of “Cinderella” and showing the four members left behind with one glass high-heel shoe.

FT Island drummer Minhwan disproves urban myth

“I’ve heard of several ways you can recharge your cellphone when you don’t have your charger with you,” said Minhwan, drummer of pop band FT Island. He then tried each of them out, first by rubbing the phone battery on jean fabric and then by connecting paper clips onto the battery. Though neither of the methods proved effective, be sure to check out Minhwan’s antics up close on Tuesday’s V broadcast.
