K-pop boy band BTOB made a short 5-minute appearance Tuesday through the V app at Gimpo International Airport right before the group left for Japan.
The broadcast was kicked off with a stranger’s face all over the screen -- the group’s manager who tried to set up the camera. Changseob then jumped onto the screen, asking if the show was on the air. Fans were flustered at first, but they were soon charmed by the members’ cute and clumsy moves.
With short, uproarious greetings, the guys expressed their excitement as it was the very first time for them to give a live broadcast through the app.
They didn’t miss out on giving fans news updates either. “We’re taking off for Japan soon! We’ll be there until the beginning of next month,” said Eun-kwang, adding, “but don’t worry. We’re going to meet you guys online,” hinting at further episodes of their show.
The members also tried out on extemporaneous acrostic poems with the words “Gimpo” and “V app,” which, however, ended up in lame jokes. Also, Sungjae showed off his brand new Bluetooth earphones, saying there’s no need to carry his smartphone all the time.

The members finished off the show with their viral “Banana Song” cover from the animated film “Minions.”
Soon after garnering great praise from their homeland, the septet headed to the neighboring island country, set to drop their second single in Japan on Aug. 19 and with numerous promos and concerts due to be held simultaneously.
Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit www.vlive.tv.
