I-LAND’s new boy group blows up first live broadcast
Enhypen, the hugely popular boy group formed from idol audition show “I-Land,” delivered its first V Live broadcast Saturday.
Heesung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon and Ni-ki -- the seven musicians who made the final cut on the show -- had their first encounter with global fans, racking up over a whopping 1.07 million viewers and 150 million hearts by the end of the broadcast. Backed by majestic fanfare, they talked about their first impressions of each other, what went on behind the scenes of the survival show and their goals for this year. They also answered fans’ questions and said they planned to invite ideas for a new fandom name from the fans themselves.
The multinational boy group will be backed by Belift Lab, a joint venture between Big Hit Entertainment and CJ ENM. “Just like ‘hyphen’ that connects one word to another, ENHYPEN means that seven different boys connect to discover one another and grow together,” said Belift.
The rookie group is set to make its debut later this year.

ITZY’s Yuna thanks fans for support
Yuna of ITZY thanked fans for supporting the group in the midst of the pandemic. The ITZY vocalist took to V Live on Sunday by herself, telling fans she wanted to talk to them in light of wrapping up the group’s “Not Shy” promotions. She addressed her message to MITZY, ITZY’s fandom.
“I feel like I should get used to receiving the support of MITZY from far away in this pandemic era. I felt wistful for not being able to
see you in person, but I was also thankful for supporting us despite all this,” said the singer.
“There were some MITZYs who chanted to our song from their homes, and I realized that there’s something more important than what I see. For the last two days I also had a chance to video chat with our fans, including our global MITZYs,” she continued.
“Despite their clumsy Korean language, they told me touching words in Korean, something like ‘It’s OK to be sad’ and ‘You make people happy.’ I was so touched.”
