DK and Vernon of Seventeen celebrated their birthdays in a short V Live segment that began with DK singing happy birthday.

“How was your day?” asked DK before telling Vernon not to say anything.

“We actually have been shooting something and didn’t get to spend it properly,” DK said, “but the fact that we get to spend the day together is good enough, and all the bandmates and the staffers congratulated us.”

DK had eaten cake and seaweed soup, or miyeokguk, which Koreans usually have on their birthdays, thanks to his mother and sister.

Vernon had a good time bowling with some bandmates the previous day.

“We exchanged gifts this year as well,” DK told viewers, agreeing with Vernon to keep the presents a secret.

“I suddenly want some miyeokguk and cake though,” said Vernon.

DK replied that he felt like making Vernon some, but his shoot would end much later.

“We probably said this last year but we are really grateful that so many are congratulating us on our birthday,” said the two.

NCT Dream’s Renjun lets fans decide hair color

Renjun of NCT Dream began his solo live segment by asking fans to help him choose between gold and grey for his hair color.

“I can always go back to dark hair, but since it is currently bleached, I want to go for a lighter tone,” he said, nodding and telling fans that he had been leaning toward grey.

Viewers asked if he was wearing Jisung’s hoodie.

“Yes. I stole it from him,” he admitted, announcing that it now belongs to him. They usually wear different sizes but when it comes to hoodies, the size does not matter, said the idol.

When fans asked him to share his playlist, he played some parts of “If the World Was Ending” by JP Saxe, his recent favorite.

“I listen to this particularly on mornings when I don’t feel like waking up, to clear the cobwebs from my head,” said Renjun.

Kpop Herald picks 50 best BTS songs

Kpop Herald’s Yim Hyun-su picked his 50 best BTS tracks in time for the band’s upcoming release of “Map of the Soul: 7.”

With fellow reporter Hong Dam-young, he started from the bottom of the list, putting on “Paradise” from “Love Yourself: Tear” released in 2018. The arrangement is quite simple, said Yim, and it was written by MNEK, a British songwriter that happens to be one of his favorites.

He chose “4 O’Clock” as No. 16, citing the perfect combination of V’s husky and low voice and RM’s smoothly flowing rap. It was not even officially released but it is still one of the most streamed tracks, he added. Hong chimed in, saying she listens to it when she needs to calm her nerves.

“Fake Love” was Yim’s top choice, as it shows both the bright and dark sides of BTS and spans a range of pop genres, capturing the essence of the band.

Among the top five picks were “Boy with Luv” (“very catchy, legendary intro”), “DNA” (“amazing drop”), “Spring Day” (beautiful and sentimental without getting soapy) and “Mic Drop” (“packed with synth sounds and trap beats”).

Woollim Rookie’s Dongyun celebrates turning 19

Dongyun of Woollim Rookie livestreamed for the first time in 2020 on his birthday.

“I am very nervous,” he admitted, stuttering a bit.

He realized it was his birthday only after someone told him it was past midnight during a break from practice and everyone congratulated him.

The rest of his bandmates then put on a happy birthday song and brought a cake with two tall candles.

“I wish all six of us stay healthy and close in 2020 as well,” he said when they asked him to make a wish. They told him to make a personal wish as well.

Dongyun carefully cut the cake. They saved it for later.

“Just so you know, I love chocolate cakes,” said the birthday boy.
