“I have missed you so, so much,” he told fans, “I really needed this moment and I am so glad to be here with Stay (the band’s fan group) again.”

He began with GOT7’s “Call My Name,” dancing to the music that he finds refreshing and to his taste. Bang Chan said the had told them he really loved the song when he ran into them recently, and that he loved the performance as well as the music video, paying respect to the band that belongs to the same company as his.

Bang Chan was then joined by his bandmates, who brought in a white shirt for the black-clad leader so that they could all wear the same color. “I feel so uncomfortable wearing this,” said Bang Chan.

Laughing happily, they squeezed into the small studio to fit into the frame. Hyunjin commented that it must be the first time they were showing their new hair colors.

Seungmin said it was the first time he had changed it in 1 1/2 years, but his bandmates chuckled and told him it still looked the same.

“I will draw something for Once, of me doing V Live,” she told viewers, referring to the group’s official fandom and picking up colored pens.

Sana came to join her in front of the camera and Momo said she had been waiting.

“Then you will not be doing this at the hotel room,” said Sana.

Some fans told Sana to change her phone, and she said she would as soon as the phone case from their official merchandise lineup becomes available.

“Is it time we went to the hotel?” asked Momo, looking up at the staff and picking up speed. They are going to have a party, all of them together, said Sana. “Without us,” the two said with mock pouts on their faces.

Momo showed a quick illustration of the pair appearing on screen and bid farewell to fans, promising to return soon.

“(Reporter Yim) Hyun-su has been to the media event and brought these,” Ahn Sung-mi told viewers, showing the physical copies of HyunA’s “Flower Shower” and Dawn’s “Money,” which are not yet available for purchase.

HyunA, formerly of Wonder Girls and 4Minute, is one of the most prominent female solo acts in Korea. Dawn was previously in boy band Pentagon, but they parted ways when he and HyunA announced their relationship in summer 2018. The couple then signed with Psy’s record label P Nation. The singer of global sensation “Gangnam Style” composed both singles released by the couple earlier this week.

“It was very refreshing to see idols openly discuss their relationship,” said Yim. At the showcase, Dawn said he respected his girlfriend for being humble and caring despite her fame, and HyunA in return said Dawn is the reason she can smile and be confident on stage.

“Flower Shower” at first sounds quite different from HyunA’s previous hits, but actually suits her very well -- both sweet and sexy -- according to Ahn. The singer explained that she may share the destiny of flowers that are beautiful but eventually wither.

“I think this is the first time I am spending my birthday with so many of you,” he said. He said he was moved by the sight of fans holding his pictures and messages for him at the concert. Not only the fans at the live show but also those from all around the world had sent him messages, said the birthday boy, thanking everyone.

As the band resumed its Japan tour on Thursday, holding three days of concerts in Chiba, he did not have miyeokguk, or seaweed soup, which Koreans traditionally have to mark a birthday.

“But I had a full feast of Chinese food instead!” said the Chinese-born idol, smiling.

He also told fans about Dino, who could not join the bandmates on stage due to enteritis, saying, “I checked in on him as soon as we returned to hotel and he seemed much better than this morning. Please do not worry too much.”
