“It is awkward doing this alone,” he murmured beginning the solo live session.

Showing the viewers the crimson red sweater, the 23-year-old explained that it was similar to the one he was wearing in his baby picture -- “probably when I was 1” -- shared on SNS to celebrate the day. He chose the top to remind himself to stay as humble as when he started his career, said the idol adding with a faint smile that it might be going too far back to the beginning.

He had a craving for naengmyeon, or Korean-style cold noodle, and chose to eat it instead of a bowl of miyeokguk, a seaweed soup Koreans usually have on their birthdays.

“But I was already full since I was showered with blessings from everyone,” said the birthday boy.

He is not the type to celebrate his birthdays in particular, but always calls his parents as soon as the clock hits midnight to thank them.

“This year, however, my mother sent me a video message and although I cannot show it to you, I was so moved,” he told fans.

“Should I offer some spoilers?” asked Chenle while Jisung tried to calm his hair down. Jisung stopped his bandmate but Chenle said he was really surprised when others dropped hints in the band’s previous livestream.

“Before the music video of ‘We Go Up’ came out, some of the members just gave out clues as if it was so natural,” he said incredulously. Mark is a legendary spoiler, agreed Jisung.

“After we heard the demo, everyone told us never to offer any spoilers but as soon as the live segment began, he went like ‘It’s Over ...’” recalled Chenle adding that he was staring at Mark with his mouth agape. His Korean was not as good as now and he was just looking at the bandmates talking not understanding fully why they kept on laughing so hard, the Chinese-born idol confided.

The pair kept being silly and beckoned Jaemin, who has been staying out of the camera, to join them.

“You are so handsome! You don’t need a mask,” said Chenle.

AB6IX’s Woojin invites special guest for solo live show

Park Woojin of AB6IX celebrated the fifth episode of his solo segment turning on the camera for the voice-only session as well as bringing in the band’s leader.

He started the segment with the band’s “Shadow” and told fans that instead of the usual calm and serene mood that he had been creating for the previous four sessions, he would mark the fifth with an upbeat show.

The idol then brought in bandmate Lim Young-min who thanked the DJ for inviting him. After formally introducing himself, Lim confessed that this is the first time he was appearing in a radio program all by himself and is nervous since he has no one to fall back on.

The two first discussed “Shadow,” one of the 11 tracks in their first full-length album released earlier this month. Lim, having written and composed the song himself, joked that he is being recognized as a genius songwriter. Park offhandedly struck out the comment and asked him to talk about the song, not himself.

“It has delectable beats and the lyrics on top of it look at the meaning of the shadow, how it is created through the light that travels 50 light years to reach us and how sunlight and shadow cannot see each other,” explained Lim.

“As you know, we met our fans and decided to put on costumes to get in the mood for Halloween. So many of you liked it and we had fun,” said Hwang Minhyun.

JR then asked each one to explain what they are supposed to beginning with Baekho. I cannot say it myself, said Baekho sheepishly admitting Ren’s guess that he is a prince.

“It really suits you,” said Ren, and JR told him his hairstyle was also fit for the role. Ren was wearing an ivory motor-racing jumpsuit while Aron donned up as the main character from the musical “Phantom of the Opera.”

“I also had a mask and a cape, but it was a little too hot so I took them off,” Aron told fans.

JR’s dark blue jacket and black pants were inspired by hwarang, an elite warrior from Silla Dynasty. Hwang looked dandy in a uniform, which fans explained to him, was of an airplane captain.
