“I am dripping with sweat since I have been practicing almost all day,” he said, trying to sort out his sweaty, long locks. “I am trying to grow it,” said the idol, torn between covering it with a bucket hat and showing off his new hair hue.

He did a short but powerful choreography before returning closer to the camera, telling fans he had just learned the moves the previous day.

Going through the live reactions from fans, Hyunjin was delighted to find a comment from Felix.

“Have you seen it? You have, right? Leave me another comment, Felix, if it’s you. No, come here (and join me) if you are watching this,” he said excitedly.

A couple of minutes later, the bandmate did come, sticking his head into the room from the door.

“Come and say hi at least,” beckoned Hyunjin, and Felix, covering half of his bare face with a hand, said hello to fans before running away.

Sunmi carves out own spot with yet another hit

K-pop Herald reporters looked closely at why Sunmi’s just-released single is a hit.

“Lalalay,” a vibrant mixture of Latin pop, dance elements and traditional Korean sounds, was released only a day before and is already topping the major charts, noted Ahn Sung-mi.

It is accented with sounds of Korean traditional reed instrument taepyeongso, which was also known as nalnari, inspiring the singer to come up with the title for the digital single. At the same time, the Korean word also refers to a “player” or “punk,” explained Ahn, adding the artist is good at capturing such vibes and is a standout among K-pop female artists.

Sunmi has totally loved her recent European tour, her first solo international tour, and is planning another, relayed Yim Hyun-su, who had been to a media conference for Sunmi the previous day.

The former Wonder Girls member also is seeking to find a middle ground as a singer, staying true to herself while making popular songs that cater to her fans, he said.

“We were so surprised to see so many of our fans,” said Ilhoon, thanking fans for their attendance at a recent K-pop festival in Seoul.

“We were moved,” agreed Hyunsik.

The bandmates excused themselves one by one to get changed, but played dumb when fans asked if they were at a photoshoot.

“You are hearing camera shutter sounds? Flashes? Really?” they said, feigning innocence.

Meanwhile, Peniel said he would do a solo livestream soon, while Hyunsik said he may not be able to do one anytime soon.

“I have my hands full, and classes just started (at university),” he said in apology. He was planning to do one on eating instant noodles, said Hyunsik, and Peniel told him he had tried a combination of Neoguri ramen and Chapaghetti.

“It is so good, right? I saw it from (the movie) ‘Parasite’ and made it myself,” said Hyunsik.

“Mark just asked me if this would fit and gave it to me,” said Yugyeom, showing off a sparkly ring encrusted with stones.

“This is expensive,” he whispered with a grin.

He fingered his silver earring and reminded fans he had worn it for “Hard Carry” three years earlier and still had it before going through a big selection of accessories to add on.

“I prefer silver to gold,” said the performer, confiding that he likes to wear a lot of rings on stage. “It makes you sparkle.”

While Jackson was deeply engaged in a talk with a bodyguard about working out, Youngjae pouted about how hard it is to find a chance to practice his English touring as a band.

“Whenever I want to put my English to use, there is somebody else already doing it for me. I can’t even get a cup of coffee on my own!” he lamented.
