Lee Ji-yoon, the K-pop team editor at The Korea Herald, on Wednesday was awarded this year’s Foreign Language Journalist Award for overseeing her team’s outstanding performance during the launch of the K-pop Herald.

The award ceremony was held at the Korea Press Center in Seoul to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Foreign Language Newspapers Association of Korea. A total of four journalists were awarded on the day.

The K-pop Herald, which was launched as an in-house venture of the nation’s largest English daily in January this year, has been expanding its presence on social media platforms, including Twitter and Naver’s V Live.

Other members of the association include the Korea Times, Korea JoongAng Daily and the Aju Business Daily.
