The action starts with the nine band members looking down from the roof of a tall building. Then, they take the elevator to the ground floor. When the doors open, they face a scene from the music video for “Miroh,” the title track from their previous EP.

The band members don’t get out. Instead, with a determined expression, leader Bang Chan takes out a key, unlocks the system and pushes a yellow button labeled “YW.” The elevator begins a terrifying descent to a secret floor far below the basement. The doors finally open, and the musicians look out into the unknown space that lies ahead of them.

The EP will be released June 19 and will continue the narrative from the band’s previous EP, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard World Albums chart in April.

Kihyun brought up Iamnot’s “RBTY” and “Psycho.” “I happened to hear (the band) perform at an award ceremony. One of the members, Lim Heon-il, is very well-known and I found out that he has formed a new unit,” the vocalist explained before singing few lines from “Psycho.”

“It totally blows away stress, with fantastically strong rock sounds,” he said of the song, which the band always features as a concert closer.

In the previous two episodes, rapper Jooheon picked Se So Neon’s “A Long Dream,” the first single by the indie band released in 2017. “It evokes the feeling of a cool breeze,” he said.

Minhyuk chose veteran singer-songwriter Lucia’s “Please” from 2010 and Eden’s “I’m Still” from 2017. “I am a huge fan of Eden,” a producer-turned-singer, he confessed.

“I didn’t get to eat miyeokguk. I don’t think I haven’t had one since my debut,” she said, referring to seaweed soup, which is traditionally eaten on birthdays in Korea. “The staff surprised me with a cake, though, and I had some,” she said.

“My birthday wish? To live happily ever after with you fans,” said the performer with a coy smile.

Boasting of the strong bonds she shared with her bandmates, the girl group’s main dancer told fans that “as soon as it turned midnight, everyone in GFriend sent ‘happy birthday’ messages for me through our group chat room. Such cute words! But I can’t read them to you. Not appropriate for broadcast!”

To celebrate her birthday, she said, the girls were going to eat something delicious together per the birthday girl’s request. Then she surprised the fans by telling them what was on the menu: chitterlings.

NU’EST tries blind guessing game

NU’EST finally got the hang of the game in the ninth episode of V Live’s Star Road.

“This is the first time I got one right,” said Baekho after figuring out the object hidden inside a black box -- Vienna sausage -- and giving hints to Minhyun, who guessed right.

“Now we are playing this game,” said the five-piece band.

Baekho put pressure on Ren, dramatically shaking his head while bringing in the next box. “This is too hard. We wouldn’t even know what to call it,” he said, showing the contents to the other band members.

Minhyun volunteered the answer confidently, whispering “rice crackers” to Baekho -- but everyone could hear him say it and they all started laughing.

“Why did you even bother whispering?” chided Baekho.

“Did you hear it?” Minhyun asked the staff, his eyes widening.

Ren was given a new object instead and when he put his hand in the box and felt it, he fell to the floor because of the icky feeling. “I am almost crying,” he said. With moist eyes, Ren explained that it felt like tissue dipped in water.

Aron cautiously answered.

“A sheet mask?”

Upon learning he got it right, he said triumphantly, “I had one on last night!”
