The seven-piece act gathered in front of the camera after a practice, with all the singers clad in black.

“I can’t wait to perform for music programs,” said Jackson.

“This time feels a little different somehow and I am excited about the tour,” added Mark.

The bandmates were given a box full of papers with hints written on them, and Bambam was the first to pick one. Although he confidently stated that they would be giving more details about their pending album, the performer hesitated when the others pressed him to sing and dance for 10 seconds to give fans a preview of the title song.

JB sang some parts that had already been made public in the teaser, but this sent Bambam into a state of alarm.

“I would rather keep my fans in the dark,” JB conceded, stopping the staff from playing more than five seconds from each track.

Yoo Yeonghyeon did not realize that he had been blocking the microphone while he was vigorously chomping on his food. Band leader Choi Jonghoon acknowledged the camera with a curt nod when the keyboardist told him they were live. The other members were too focused on eating to say anything.

Jang Gyeongjoon underlined that they were really vegetable people. “We eat a lot of vegetables,” said the bassist, dipping a piece of cabbage in gochujang, or red pepper sauce.

Instead of comments from the band, fans were treated to the mouthwatering sizzling sound of beef instead. “It’s like the beef is doing solo,” joked the bandmates.

“I had such a good time today,” Choi finally said about the open-air performance at an indie band concert in Gyeonggi Province. “It feels like it wasn’t me (who was up there onstage),” said the vocalist.

“I really did my best, pouring out all of my energy. Afterward I didn’t even have the energy to smile,” confessed guitarist Kim Dohyeong.

“I was feeling too lazy for a shower and thought talking to you may be a good incentive for me,” said the idol, munching on spicy crackers. “This is my favorite, apple flavor, along with peach,” she said, sipping from a plastic bottle of Qoo bearing the bandmates’ faces.

“Have you seen the goods? … Will it be OK to show pictures?” asked the singer, displaying smartphone pictures of the band’s soon-to-be-released merchandise.

“The T-shirts have a heart on the chest with the initials of our names instead of large prints of Twice. That will be a little embarrassing, right?” she asked fans.

“The bracelets have inscriptions showing the ages of all the members, only recognizable to us Twice and Once,” said the performer, referring to the girl group’s fandom community.

“Oh, and the bag! Momo and I designed it and it will be perfect as a second bag when you have too much stuff to carry around,” said Nayeon.

I.N showed the full extent of his appetite at a highway stop on his way to a fan signing session. After having hot soup with rice for lunch, he feasted on hotteok, or pan-fried sweet pancakes, along with roasted rice cakes and an iced Americano. But when Hyunjin showed him a pack of mashed potato cake, he instantly opened his mouth for a bite with a cute “Ahhh.”

The boys arrived at Gwangalli Beach, one of the best-known seaside spots in the port city.

“Please make my legs look as long as possible,” Hyunjin asked Seungmin. “My face is so swollen.” The main dancer had skipped lunch and almost slept through the ride.

On the way back to Seoul, Bang Chan showed fans what he had in his bag: a small keyboard, a hardcover version of “The Little Prince,” a USB hub, a customized laptop and a gonggi set -- a popular Korean children’s game.

“Without this I can’t do any work!” he said, holding up the USB hub. Of the gonggi pieces, he said, “I have them with me so I can practice whenever I can. I will one day beat Changbin,” he said, laughing.
