NU’EST was in Twitter’s Blueroom in Seoul this Tuesday for a live stream which has been watched by over 500,000 viewers as of Friday.

The hourlong show was full of touching moments and laughter -- from the countdown of 10 seconds before going on air to fans thanking the group for being together and their hard work over the last eight years since their debut in 2012.

The most memorable moment came just a few minutes before the stream came to an end and the last question from a fan was picked.

The question: “So much has happened over the last eight years since your debut and I’m just proud and want to thank you for staying the same as NU’EST. I’d love to hug you and hold your hands and tell you in person that I thank you and love you, but since I can’t, can you guys hug each other?”

The emotionally charged question is a reference to the changes the group faced over the years.

In 2017, four members -- JR, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren ? took part in the second season of Mnet’s survival reality show “Produce 101.”

The season came to an end with one of the four members Minhyun finishing in 11th place and joining a project group Wanna One which would go on until January 2019. In the meantime, the rest went on to form a special unit “NU’EST W” until Minhyun would return.

And in 2019, as promised, the group was back in its entirety after renewing their contract with Pledis Entertainment, putting to rest worries surrounding their future as a five-piece band.

Their new album “Happily Ever After,” which was released earlier this week, is the first mini album in nearly three years since “Canvas,” their fifth EP was released in 2016.

Sounding moved, the five boys grabbed each other’s hands, told each other “Well done,” and hugged before pecking on their hands.

It was a rare moment for a Blueroom live, which is often kept light-hearted and upbeat. Bandmate Baekho sounded a little emotional as well as he said, “Wow, this is quite emotional.”

Sitting in the middle, JR also said they were able to stay together for eight years, thanks to their fans who stuck by them.

Wrapping up the conversation, Minhyun said, “We are going to be together for a long, long time.”
