“I’m nervous. I’ve been thinking a lot (about) what to say but it’s been a while talking to you live,” he said after apologizing for his bare face. “I had to wipe off (the makeup) since my skin could not breathe.”

“For this album, I wrote about 80 to 90 percent of the lyrics besides those for rap, which Suga and J-Hop did. It was quite consuming for me frankly, but the outcome is satisfactory,” said the leader of the K-pop sensation.

“Persona to me is a social self. A mask you need to be part of society, be it good or bad. ‘Love Yourself,’ our theme for the previous songs, still is the most important idea for me. But the concept has grown too big as did everything else for us … so I returned to something small. Myself. Finding myself and knowing myself well,” he said.

“What we have earned in a social context has everything to do with you. So all songs, except for the first and the last tracks, were about you fans. This let us work on the whole album in a single, organic mindset. Thanking everyone, on my knees, paying the highest tribute possible. And I am … proud,” said RM.

“Remember this sweater? This is what I wore for a fan signing and I wanted to wear this today so I changed,” he said before mentioning a new piercing on his left ear. “I had 10 minutes before going to a music program and I did it.”

“We are performing tomorrow at an award show. I like award shows. It’s exciting because the stage is big,” said the main dancer of the group, adding that they had been rehearsing earlier.

Hyunjin also shared his recent favorite songs including “20 Years of Age” and Boramiyu’s “Spring Christmas.”

“I like spring and I like Christmas, so I had to click and hear the song when it appeared on a new songs’ list. … This song gives you a flutter,” he said singing along to some parts.

As for hosting a music chart program, he said he is still getting used to it.

“Last week, in particular, I was so nervous, as BTS was on the show. They were standing right next to me,” Hyunjin recalled. “And when Suga told me, ‘Your shoelaces are undone,’ I was so flustered. From then on my mind just went blank,” he confessed.

He started off by apologizing for not going live the previous week. “Something from work came up suddenly, and I didn’t even have time to let you know in advance,” he said, promising fans he would try not to miss any more solo broadcasts.

“Every week after hosting the music program ‘The Show,’ I will log on since I will be ready makeup- and hair-wise. I am not ready to show you my bare face yet,” said the performer.

“There are still three hours left for my birthday, and I wanted to celebrate it with you,” said Jeno clad in a suit.

He was not alone for long, as four bandmates appeared with a cake. Renjun was crooning his own version of Happy Birthday.

“You will be so surprised you will shed tears when you get back to your room,” said the four, hinting at birthday presents.

“We got our hands on Twice’s seventh EP -- just released yesterday. Very fresh … and big and heavy,” said reporter Hong Dam-young, showing a signed record she had received from a press conference the previous day.

“I loved their outfits. They were all clad in black, mostly short dresses, and they looked so sexy,” she said of the band’s whole new concept. “They were more cute, bright and energetic (than) before and they still have those (traits) but this time they are more mature, elegant, and bold,” added the reporter.

As for the songs, “the title track, especially the chorus, was very catchy,” she said before opening the eye-catching booklet that came with the CD bearing the image of Nayeon.

Filled with photos of the nine members, individually and in groups, it also contained stickers, a postcard-sized picture of Mina, and card-sized ones of each member.
