The nine-piece girl group, now in its fifth year, showed its strong, grown-up side with a powerful, perfectly choreographed dance in which all the band members wore black.

“It’s been six months. … Let’s get busy,” said Nayeon as fans screamed. “It’s so good to be so close to you. We can see each and every one of your faces.”

The mellow pop number landed on top of local music charts within hours of last night’s release. Not only that, it also topped iTunes’ song charts for eight regions and its album charts for 25 countries. In Japan, all the tracks from the EP are on LINE Music’s Top 100 chart, hogging the top six spots.

Twice will also kick off a tour next month in Seoul, and will go on to deliver 10 performances in nine cities around the world.

“I had to say thank you and sorry to all the members,” said Kino, who had been out of the public eye as the result of an injury.

“Sorry that everyone had to work on new choreography, modified for eight (instead of nine), so suddenly and grateful for filling up my spot so well,” he said after some hesitation. “For the first time, I got to see Pentagon from afar, and you were so great. Thank you, really,” said the performer.

“I was so happy going on stage for this album. Our fans are like friends to me, and I had so much fun playing with you,” said Shinwon.

The group reminded fans that a concert was coming up on the weekend and the musicians were working hard to prepare for it.

“We will keep on logging on to V Live as well,” said Hui.

“I’m going on a trip with my friends who I’ve known for at least 17 years. … I wonder what kind of memories we can make,” said the singer expectantly.

He first joined two of his oldest friends, regular viewers of his show, at a supermarket to do some grocery shopping before meeting up with fans.

“When I saw cars like this on the street, I thought ‘it must be a celebrity’ but never imagined I would be in one,” said friend Jaeho during the ride, trying out the state-of-the-art gadgets in Xiumin’s black van.

At a hotel in Gyeonggi Province, the group of 11 met and while a selected trio prepared lunch, Xiumin’s friends took turns introducing themselves to his fans.

“I look a little young today, like a teenager maybe, no?” asked Yerin, whose brown hair was in pigtails complete with bangs.

In the back, Shinbi showed off several high kicks while eating a bar of super-spicy chicken-flavored fish cake. “It’s too spicy!” said Shinbi, but Yerin had no problem finishing off the last bite.

“I have been to a doctor since I hurt my toe during a photo shoot trying to be cute,” said Yerin. “My hair has gotten quite long and I have tried not to bleach it too often since I had it blonde about two years ago, but recently I’ve wanted to try a different color. And maybe chop it off,” she said, before asking fans to vote for their favorite hair color.
