Just a day ahead its much-anticipated return, IZ*ONE took to Twitter’s BlueRoom Live in Seoul on Sunday to share its excitement over its new single and talk about memories.

Set to drop its second EP “Heart*Iz,” fronted by the new lead track “Violeta,” on Monday evening, the multinational K-pop rookie group, decked out in casual outfits, kicked off an hourlong conversation by greeting fans all over the world in Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese.

Featuring nine Korean members and three Japanese ones -- with all three part of Japanese girl group AKB48 -- IZ*ONE is the latest temporary K-pop group to come out of Mnet’s “Produce” audition series, following in the footsteps of I.O.I and Wanna One. The act debuted with its first EP, “Color*Iz,” in October last year.

After teasing its return, the band started answering Twitter questions about its new EP.

Asked if there were any interesting episodes related to the upcoming release, Chaewon answered that the members had to learn very fast compared to their latest promotions for “La Vie En Rose.”
Leader Eunbi shared that the bandmates had tried to take care of their health, saying, “We used to drink soda a lot in the past, but while preparing for the new EP, we only drank sports drinks for our health.”

Inspired by light purple, “Violeta” is fully packed with eight tracks, including “Really Like You,” “Airplane” and “Sunflower.” “La Vie En Rose” was themed red.

The bandmates went on to talk about their opinions of the new EP while being careful not to reveal too much.

Asked about their favorite track from the EP, Yujin answered “Really Like You,” while Heejung chose “Sunflower.”

“Our choreography for ‘La Vie En Rose’ had received lots of love, but I think our new one for ‘Violeta’ has prettier dance moves -- maybe upgraded from before. I think fans will love it,” Yujin said.

Yena also hinted at her part in the new song, saying, “My main part in ‘La Vie En Rose’ was rapping, and you can definitely look forward to my new vocal position for ‘Violeta.’ It is just awesome.”

Minju had lent a hand in composing “Really Like You,” a song about friendship, with Japanese member Hitomi. She had recalled memories of her bandmates and flipped through the group’s photo album for inspiration while working on the track. Hitomi revealed that writing lyrics in Korean was challenging.

“We used to tease Minju a lot for her emotional personality, but I think such a trait came in handy this time. I think we should stop teasing her,” Yujin jokingly said.

The bandmates continued answering Twitter questions on various topics, such as their favorite food at night, the best ways to take selfies and scary experiences while shooting the group’s own variety program.

Asked who takes the best photos in the group, they did not hesitate to name Hyewon, whom they called the “god of selfies.”

“I used to learn how to take good selfies from Nako, but after finding out about Hyewon’s selfie skills, I always reach out to Hyewon for photo advice,” Yena said.
Eunbi said, “I don’t know how to make various poses while taking selfies, but I got a lot better at it after Hyewon taught me how to do it.”

Demonstrating how to take a good selfie, Hyewon said the secret to her photos is angling her face at 45 degrees to the camera.

The bandmates then spent some time taking individual selfies, which they promised to share after the broadcast.

Before wrapping up the session, IZ*OEN did not forget to promote its reality program, “IZ*ONE Chu ? Secret Friend,” which features the bandmates being tasked with missions that test their courage.

“It was my first time taking on a ‘guts-testing’ mission, and it was so scary I almost shivered. But I tried my best to protect Yuri, my partner for the mission,” Yena said.
Wonyoung added, “We have lots of scary and funny stories for our upcoming ‘IZ*ONE Chu’ episode, so don’t miss it.”
