As hinted in a series of teasers, the video shows the nine band members orchestrating what looks like a coup to strong beats that blend hip-hop and electronic dance music. The boy band is all energy and charisma, dancing in unison and borrowing elements from New Zealand’s native Maori ceremonial dance haka.

The title song was written and co-composed by three members of the band: Bang Chan, Changbin and Han. The bandmates participated in producing all eight tracks, as with their first album.

The EP will go on sale today at 6 p.m. to mark the first anniversary of the band’s debut. The rookie idol group will begin a four-performance US tour in May that will take them to New York, Los Angeles and Houston.

NCT’s Taeyong still working on new songs

Taeyong checked in on his fans via Naver’s V Live before his favorite downtime activity: working on his songs.

First he indulged a request from his fans, over 160,000 and counting, to show them his hair, taking off his black hat for a peek before putting it back on. “It’s been a while. … I am back at the studio trying to fine-tune some songs,” he said, admitting how comfortable it was to lie down on the sofa for a while.

“Welcome to Yong’s world,” said the singer, checking in on his fans, who were sending messages from around the world. He tried to read a few messages in the fans’ native languages and said he needed to study before heading to the recording studio.

There he seemed even more alive, getting his groove on to the music of producer Royal Dive. But Taeyong could not let his fans in on any more from the songs they were working on than he had last time.

NCT 127, 10-member unit from NCT, will release “Awaken,” its first full album in Japanese, April 17.

Auditionees get 1 minute PR time

Another 14 candidates auditioning for “ProduceX101” -- a sequel to “Produce 101” -- were given one minute each to introduce themselves, bringing the tally to 43.

One, donning traditional hanbok, boasted his decidedly unconventional analog status -- no cellphone! Others sang, danced, acted, posed cute and copied other singers.

The second season of the audition program created a huge sensation by “producing” idol group Wanna One. Although this fourth edition has yet to premiere, many are concerned that it will not fare as well. Theme song “_Jima” barely clocked 500,000 views on Naver two days after its release, as compared with 1 million in just a day for the season two theme.

Veteran groups spotted at airport

TVXQ! and Super Junior were seen at Incheon International Airport upon their return from Indonesia, where they reportedly filmed a reality show.

Changmin and Yunho stayed quiet and cool behind their sunglasses, while Super Junior’s leader, Leeteuk, made eye contact with his mask pulled down.

A coffee shop in Yogyakarta on the island of Java posted on Instagram that it was closing the set of a reality show, according to local media. The two boy groups went to the Southeast Asian country to film a show titled “Analog Trip,” as well as some content for their YouTube channels.

The Indonesian Tourism Ministry released a statement saying the two veteran K pop bands would visit around 10 destinations in Yogyakarta, including temples, castles and the sultan’s palace. But it did not disclose their itinerary out of concern that overenthusiastic fans could disrupt filming.
