Banana Culture’s upcoming trio Trei premiered a web variety show on V Live on Thursday, a day after the launch of its official channel on the livestreaming platform.

JaeJun kicked off the show, saying he wanted to play a game of badminton with bandmate JunTae.

“I am energetic, like sports and am competitive,” he said, explaining why he chose badminton for the show. “It will be good for JunTae, who I think needs more physical exercise.”

Meanwhile, ChangHyun, filming himself with a selfie stick, went shopping for gifts for his bandmates, while JunTae tried vintage shopping under a budget of just 10,000 won ($8.90)

Trei, scheduled to debut early this year, has been dubbed by local media as a brother band to five-piece girl group EXID, one of the most successful K-pop acts signed under Banana Culture.

Updates from IZ*One’s Wonyoung, Chaeyeon

Two of the 12-member girl group IZ*One -- Wonyoung and Chaeyeon -- popped up on the V app Thursday evening for an intimate bonding session with fans.

“Happy New Year!” exclaimed Wonyoung. “You all will have good luck in 2019 because we wished you all the best of luck.”

Winner’s Jinu, Hoony show how to make tteokguk

A video of Winner’s Jinu and Hoony trying their hand at cooking a dish of tteokguk -- a traditional Korean dish eaten during New Year’s celebrations -- was one of the V Live editors’ choices Thursday.

“A new year is here and we are one year older now,” said Hoony, clad in traditional Korean costume hanbok, alongside Jinu. “We’re going to make tteokguk today.”
