Members of girl group EXID sounded upbeat as they wished fans a happy New Year during a recent V Live broadcast.

The group told viewers they were broadcasting from Taiwan, where it was still 2018 when they filmed the broadcast.

Cracking wide smiles, the band members said they couldn’t feel the year-end vibe much this year, which prompted Jeonghwa to share her theory on why that might be the case.

“It’s because we have been performing on New Year’s Eve at MBC for the last four or five years,” the singer said before she was distracted by the lack of interest from the rest of the group.

Solji echoed Jeonghwa’s opinion, saying that not doing a New Year’s Eve countdown made it feel like there was less of a New Year’s Eve buzz.

With 2019 being the Year of the Pig, Jeonghwa, who was born in 1995 under the Pig zodiac sign, sounded the most excited about entering the new year.
