BTOB’s Lee Changsub shares story behind “Mark”

In light of his upcoming break from the K-pop scene due to military conscription, BTOB member Lee Changsub wanted to leave a mark with his first solo album, the singer said on V Live on Tuesday.

“I put a lot of thoughts into this album, as to what kind of music I want to present. … Like the title ‘Mark,’ I wanted to leave a mark of ‘Lee Changsub,’” said the singer, appearing on V’s “Rooftop Live” program, which aired hours after the record was released.

During the broadcast, he performed “Ever” and “Gone” from the just-released album, shared his song list for year-end parties and invented his own cocktail.

Earlier in the day, before the album’s release at 6 p.m., he had aired another livestream on BTOB’s official V Live channel.

Changsub will hold two solo concerts at the Yes 24 Live Hall in eastern Seoul on Jan. 5 and 6, which will be his last official schedule before his enlistment on Jan. 14.

Hyolyn celebrates 28th birthday with fans

On her 28th birthday Tuesday, Hyolyn went on the V app for a special bonding time with fans.

Livestreaming from her music studio, the former member of now-disbanded girl group Sistar gave fans much-needed updates before starting the day’s main event -- the “escape the music room” game.

“I am spending time planning for the next year and working on new music,” she said.

The game, prepared by fans, was designed to lock Hyolyn in the room. In order to escape, she had to solve a series of quizzes.

With the help of viewers, she managed to find all the answers and when she stepped out of the room, she found a nicely decorated dinner table that also included a birthday cake and gifts.

“I did V on my birthday last year. This year again, I had a wonderful time with you,” she said at the end of the broadcast. “Don’t worry, even if you don’t hear from me very often. I am doing just fine.”
