K-pop boy band BTOB brought laughter to a year-end awards ceremony.

At the 2018 Melon Music Awards, held Saturday in Seoul, BTOB received the top 10 award, which was accidentally leaked in advance.

When Black Pink was announced one of the winners of the top 10 awards, a prerecorded message that announced BTOB as another winner was played.

Nevertheless, when BTOB was officially announced as the winner later, the bandmates reacted as if they had not heard the prerecording. They comically stood up and covered their mouths, amusing fans and celebrities present at the event as well as viewers watching the live broadcast.

BTOB’s award speech was the highlight of it all.

When Chang-sub grabbed the mic, he mentioned that it was the first time BTOB had made it to the top 10.

He then thanked the group’s fan club, Melody.

“I will continue to sing for you until my black hair turns white.”

But as soon as Chang-sub made the remark, he and his bandmates immediately noticed that his hair was already white. Chang-sub’s puzzled look cracked up the crowd, and he was eventually pushed to the back by Yook Sung-jae, who continued the group’s thank-you speech.

“This was truly a legendary moment,” a viewer said. “He totally brightened up the mood when the awards was starting to get slightly boring.”

“The reaction of the crowd was great -- around me were mostly Armys, but everyone burst into laughter after seeing Chang-sub.”

BTOB continues to promote its activities without leader Seo Eun-kwang, who enlisted in the military in August. Chang-sub’s first solo album is slated for release Dec. 11.
