Yang Hyun-suk, executive producer and president of YG Entertainment, revealed private messages unveiling the reason behind the X-rating of a new music video by one of the agency’s artists, Mino of boy band Winner.

The YG Entertainment chief posted on Instagram a screenshot of a text message conversation between himself and someone who is assumed to be an employee of YG Entertainment.

“Sir, Mnet’s censors requested ‘the partner dance scene’ be edited out from Mino’s ‘Fiance’ music video due to its sexually suggestive content. The network won’t air the video unless the said scene is replaced,” read the message sent to Yang.

Yang then asked if the music video’s airing would be censored “only on Mnet,” to which the unidentified sender replied “yes.” He instructed the sender to “inform (Mnet) that it would be all right not to air (the music video), politely.”

“Now I know what the problem was with the music video of ‘Fiance,’” Yang captioned the Instagram post.

Mino released his first solo full album “XX” on Nov. 26, which has stayed on top of major streaming sites for six consecutive days.
