The new MBC audition show “God of Composition” will provide a stage for South Korea’s most talented up-and-coming pop music composers.

With a panel made up of the industry’s top composers and singers, the show is designed to uncover the next generation of K-pop hit-makers.

Over 600 applicants contended for the show’s 60 spots, who were screened through songwriting tests and nothing else.

K-pop owes its success on the world stage to good music, says the program’s official webpage, heralding the debut of “the mastermind behind the new global hit song.”

The televised contest for songwriters will premiere Sunday at 10:30 p.m. on MBC’s entertainment channels MBC Music and MBC Every1.
