Jennie shares story behind “Solo”

Jennie of Black Pink shared the story behind her first solo project “Solo” and its music video in a live countdown to the song’ release on V Live on Monday.

“This is my first time coming to you as Jennie,” she said, adding she wanted to show a more “sincere and different side” of her with the new song.

Released at 6 p.m. Monday, “Solo” is a hip-hop number with pop elements and lyrics about a strong and independent woman who doesn’t get tied down by the pain of a breakup. “I am sorry that I am not sorry. From today on, I am a shining solo,” the lyrics go.

“There are a lot of dramatic scenes in the music video. It was my first time trying acting,” Jennie said, adding that it took her about three minutes to shed tears for a sobbing scene.

The singer also revealed that she wore all of 20 outfits that she had prepared for the shoot.

Other members of Black Pink rooted for Jennie, leaving encouraging comments on the V app.

“All my bandmates are watching me now. Thank you and I love you all!” Jennie said.

JB of GOT7 holds surprise V broadcast

JB of GOT7 held a surprise live broadcast on V Live on Monday.

“This is really a surprise broadcast. I am going to do this freely,” he said, adding that he had no preset concept for the broadcast.

The lead vocalist of the K-pop band dropped his third solo mixtape on Saturday.

Titled “1/? vol.3,” the five-track album was released on SoundCloud under the name Def.

“Have you listened to it already? Thank you,” he said. “I am doing music that I like to do.”

Asked to choose his favorite track, he first chose “Blind” and then “Sometime,” only to correct himself again right away. “I really like all of the tracks that I worked on,” he said.

Twice drops behind-the-scenes footage of “Yes or Yes” MV

Twice dropped behind-the-scenes footage for the “Yes or Yes” music video, with a focus on member Nayeon.

The 12-minute clip is titled “TWICE TV ‘YES or YES’ EP.01,” indicating there will be more videos focusing on other members. Twice consists of nine members.

“Yes or Yes” is the lead track of the girl group’s sixth EP, released on Nov. 5. It is an electric-pop track with a bouncy hook declaring “Choose one, yes or yes?”
