YG unveils first batch of contesters for “YG Treasure Box"

YG Entertainment on Monday unveiled seven of its 29 trainees competing in the upcoming talent program “YG Treasure Box” on V Live.

In the “Treasure A” group are some familiar faces, such as Bang Ye-dam, who at age 12 was a runner-up for SBS’ K-pop Star in 2012, and Choi Hyun-suk who competed in the JTBC reality show “Mix Nine.”

YG plans to unveil more trainees in the coming days and their rankings. The first episode of "Treasure Box" will air on V on Nov. 16.

Twice’s new song a hit on V

Twice’s song “Yes or Yes” is a smashing hit on V Live, attracting over 25 million likes less than a day after its release.

As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, the song’s music video was the most watched clip on V, viewed by nearly 700,000 users.

A broadcast of the girl group’s album showcase event, held in Seoul and livestreamed on V on Monday, came in second place, with 450,000 views.

Together, the two clips reached 1.15 million views and 25 million “hearts” from viewers. V app’s hearts are similar to likes on Facebook.

“Yes or Yes,” with its high-energy electro-pop tune and cheerful lyrics, is the lead track of the group’s sixth EP.

GOT7 Yugyeom off to jungle adventure

GOT7 member Yugyeom took to V Live early Tuesday morning before he left for the Northern Mariana Islands where he will be shooting a survival reality documentary show, “Law of the Jungle.”

“It’s Tuesday morning and I am on my way to the airport,” the star said inside a moving vehicle. “Don’t worry. I am quite a good swimmer,” he added.

Yugyeom is the fourth member of the K-pop boy band to star on the SBS TV program. JB, Jackson and Mark had also shown their survival skills on the show.
