BTS claimed its second MTV Europe Music Award, beating out tough competition from Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Camila Cabello.

With the biggest fans award, BTS is taking its sixth MTV award home, having already won gongs at the MTV Millennial Awards, MTV VMAs Japan and MTV MIAW in 2018.

The group’s first MTV EMA nomination was for best Korean act category in 2014, which the group won a year later in 2015.

Before the win was announced Monday, hashtag #MTVEMABiggestFansBTS was already trending on Twitter, thanks to the fan’s efforts to mobilize to vote for the group.

Launched in 1994, MTV EMA is organized by MTV Networks Europe and considered one of the biggest music awards in Europe.
