Jin of BTS is father to multiple furry companions: two sugar gliders, two flying squirrels and an alpaca named RJ.

Omuk and Odeng belong to a rare species of possum known as sugar gliders and Ulkun and Gukmul are flying squirrels.

While he has looked after the creatures for many years, it wasn’t until last year that the eldest of BTS decided to disclose them to public. Jin explained his initial reluctance to make his pets known to the world on “BTS DNA Comeback Show” aired on CJ ENM’s network Mnet on Sept. 21, 2017.

Jin, cautious of his influence, said he was worried his younger fans would take after him and “adopt (sugar gliders) without proper consideration,” advising that one should “deliberate on a lot of things” before pet adoption.

“They are live beings. I hope people would adopt when they can really take responsibility (for their pets),” he emphasized.

Omuk, Odeng, Ulkun and Gulkmul make frequent appearances on BTS’ social media accounts alongside Jin.
