EXO returned to the K-pop scene after a 16-month hiatus with the release Friday of “Don’t Mess UP My Tempo.”

The group performed four of the 11 tracks on the new album at a showcase event held in Incheon, with over 6 million watching via V Live. The live stream received 1.69 billion “hearts” from viewers.

“It has been a really long time,” said member Kai. “I am so happy now that you like (our music).”

Suho said, “The album was released today and it topped the charts. It’s all thanks to you.”

“Don’t Mess Up My Tempo” ranked No. 1 on all three of South Korea’s main online music charts upon its release. It was EXO’s first release since its winter-themed EP “Universe” and its first full-length effort since “The War,” released in July last year.

On stage, the boy band showed powerful dance moves to the lead track “Tempo,” whose lyrics are in essence a warning not to “mess up their tempo.”

They also performed “Ooh La La La,” “24/7,” “Bad Dream,” and “Smile on My Face” during the showcase, while engaging in casual talk with fans.

GOT7 dropped a dance practice video of “Lullaby” on V Live on Friday, wearing blue pajamas and white socks.

The clip, titled “Lullaby Dance Practice ? Pajama Ver.” follows a “suit version” and a “boyfriend version” unveiled earlier, in which members practiced the choreography in slick suits and casual clothes like jeans and sweatshirts. “Lullaby” is the lead track to GOT7’s latest album “Present: YOU,” released Sept. 17.
