YG Entertainment teases audition show ‘YG’s Box of Jewels’

YG Entertainment released the first teaser on Wednesday for its upcoming survival reality program, “YG’s Box of Jewels.”

“What YG’s boy groups, including Big Bang, Winner and iKon, have in common is that they were all formed through the company’s survival program,” said Yang Hyun-suk, CEO of YG Entertainment. “The program can be seen as an extension of the previous audition programs.”

The teaser video came out Wednesday at 10 a.m. on YouTube. It starts with an image of the YG building, with suspenseful music playing in the background. As the camera zooms into the building, a question appears on the screen.

“Will the box of jewels open?”

On the new program, 29 trainees will compete to be part of a new boy band.

The title, “YG’s Box of Jewels,” implies that YG Entertainment has many talented trainees waiting to be discovered.

The 10-episode program is scheduled to air on Naver’s V Live, JBTC2 and YouTube on Nov. 10.
