Veteran singer BoA talked candidly about her age and long-running career during Monday’s episode of “Section TV.”

The 31-year-old singer, who recently released the album “Woman,” said people mistake her for being older than her actual age as she debuted at just 13 and has nearly two decades of performing under her belt.

“I think it’s because I came across as cool-headed as a judge on an audition programs,” she said before awkwardly adding, “I can be cute.”

BoA, who is in her 19th year as an artist, has spent nearly two-thirds of her life as a singer.

“Sometimes I find it scary that broadcasting companies have so much content of me growing up,” the singer said.

Though she gained popularity in Japan from the early stages of her career, she said she was surprised to learn at first that she had to study Japanese.

Her Japanese debut album “Listen to My Heart” topped the Oricon Albums Chart in 2002.

When asked about what she would be doing 10 years later, she said, “Though my looks might have changed a lot, I think I’ll always remain as singer BoA.”
